Coos Bay, OR Sunset Bay State Park

We've had a great stretch here, camping at Sunset Bay State Park, just outside Coos Bay, Oregon.  Spacious sites and plenty of quiet.
Tank, adding seaweed to his omnivorous diet!

Sunset Bay State Park. Recommended by my sister's good friends Allison and Jay. THANK-YOU!

We headed down the coast for a visit to a retired lighthouse...
Purple Mountains Majesty...with clear cutting in the foreground... :(

The band, Second Chances, band practice at the campsite!

1867 Lighthouse retired in the 1930's and restored in the 60's. Amen for those who have the insight to preserve and protect

I think England...what about you? And here we are, in the beautiful US of A! Politics aside!

Then we headed into Charleston, a small town just down the road from the state park.  At the ranger's recommendation we enjoyed the fresh-caught seafood at Fisherman's Grotto!  And enjoyed, and enjoyed...  dinner two nights in a row, then lunch on the third day!
Fresh cod, shrimp and oysters with the best and lightest batter ever! And of course,
fries left over for the Tankster!

And a campfire back at the campsite.

This morning we enjoyed a spectacular hike on the Oregon Coast Trail, heading out of Sunset Bay, with quiet forest views and a look back at the bay.

The moisture creates Dr. Seuss style artwork!

Hoping he's just enjoying the view!

 Living the Dream!!

....and watching the NIGHTMARE!

Lol...Trump IS a nightmare! Enjoying your blog. Steve and I missed crossing paths with you in San Antonio by only a few days. We're looking forward to possibly using a camper for our living quarters when he's fully retired, as I continue with my travel nursing. We may need to get some camper traveling tips from you!
